Fun fact: In 1831, Cyrus Hall McCormick introduced the mechanical reaper, a horse-drawn machine that transformed the way grain was harvested.

Before the reaper, harvesting grain was done by hand with a scythe and required significant labor. McCormick's invention allowed one person to harvest far more grain in a day than several workers could by hand, helping farmers work more efficiently and laying the foundation for the modern farm equipment industry.
