er management, we have gradually broadened our technical capabilities to include three tightly integrated groups focusing on Water, Infrastructure, and Technology (WIT). Our experience has shown that developing thoughtful solutions to western water challenges takes all the WIT we can muster. Water - Sustainable management of surface water and groundwater is core to our vision and the services we offer. Infrastructure - We collaborate closely with our clients to plan, design, build, and operate the infrastructure needed to improve water systems. Technology - We are passionate about collecting, managing, modeling, analyzing, and visualizing data to tell the stories of our water systems.

Last week, DE and California State University, Chico Irrigation Training Facility ( CSUC ITF) hosted a Spring 2026 Techathon—a full‑day event centered on the theme "Making the Unseen Seen - Water Budgets."

After an opening session on California's Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, participants rotated through breakout stations covering general tools, telemetry, groundwater extractions and pressurized flows, ET and precipitation, groundwater‑storage change, stream–aquifer interactions, and applied surface water.

We wrapped up the day with a session focused on spatial hydrology, data science, and modeling—bringing all the concepts together in a practical, integrated way.

Thank you to the CSUC ITF for your continued partnership and for providing the facilities that made this such an enriching and collaborative event!

Our team recently installed of a new remote monitoring station designed to track water levels and weather conditions. Once the data is transmitted, we retrieve it from the GOES system and deliver it directly to our client so they can accurately monitor their system.

We are excited to welcome Paola M. Flores Hernandez to the DE team! She has joined our Oakdale office as an Assistant Specialist where she will be supporting water system projects and our work in environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Today’s the day we’ve been working towards with several Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) across the state! As part of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) are required to submit annual reports to the Department of Water Resources by April 1 of each year. Annual reports provide data and narrative descriptions on the GSA’s progress toward implementing their respective Groundwater Sustainability Plans. DE values our partnership with these GSAs and our work supporting their annual reports and groundwater sustainability efforts.

Penny Hall is a business information systems student at California State University, Chico. She is interning under DE’s Senior Project Manager and helping integrate a project management system that will assist DE in assessing the capacity of team members on various projects and maximizing their time and talents for each client. In March 1993, Davids Engineering was founded by Grant Davids who had a vision for California water management. Fast forward 33 years and you’ll still find us following that vision with a passion to create sustainable water management solutions that produce the food our world needs while maintaining a thriving environment.

Time flies when you’re having fun, and we can’t believe it’s already been 3 years since we created this video to celebrate our 30th anniversary!
