Yes! And we try our hardest with each one of them. Sometimes it isn't enough.
Bottle babies aren’t just cute.
They are work.
They are expensive.
And no matter how good of care they got at birth or how good of care they get-they die.
You feed them too much… Dead.
Don’t feed them enough… Dead.
Mix it wrong (replacer)… Dead.
Healthy in the AM… Dead 20 minutes later.
Look at them wrong… Dead.
They make you question your sanity.
Every. Single. Day.
Usually multiple times a day.
No one strives for bottle lambs.
I’d never take a healthy offspring from a capable and healthy dam just to bottle raise them or sell them as cute companion.
But here we are-raising 100+ a year, sourced from other shepherds. We get their triplets, special needs, abandoned/unwanted…
And we make it work.
