On World Bicycle Day, we recognize the early engineering roots that helped shape the future of flight. Before becoming aviation pioneers, both the Wright brothers and Glenn Curtiss owned and operated bicycle shops where their mechanical expertise, experimentation, and innovative thinking helped lay the foundation for groundbreaking advancements in transportation and aviation.

Meet Andy! 👋

Andy is a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who brings over 15 years of experience in OEM and performance automotive, commercial and defense aerospace, and precision machining, to our Portland, Oregon team.

Recently, Andy has focused on developing and implementing assembly lines that keep our production running smoothly. As an engineer, his favorite projects are the ones he can spot in the real world, whether he’s looking out of an airplane window or driving down the road, knowing his work helped bring them to life. 🪴

🏃𝗗𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝘂𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝗻🏃

We're proud of our colleagues who took part in the Dorset Mud Run last weekend! 13 members of the Curtiss-Wright team took part, and what a fantastic day it turned out to be.

The team trudged their way through 6km and 15 muddy obstacles, showing real determination, resilience and plenty of team spirit along the way.

It was great to see everyone supporting one another and getting involved in such a brilliant community event. A huge well done to everyone who took part!

A special thank you to Benjamin Oram and Joel Cox for organising everything, your efforts made the day a real success.

Last week, two of our engineers served as judges at the LCPS Regional Science and Engineering Fair, supporting the Curtiss-Wright awards. This annual event gives students the opportunity to showcase their skills and spark their interest in STEM.
Curtiss-Wright recognized three outstanding student teams in the Embedded Systems and Software Systems categories.

We thank all student participants and are proud to support and inspire the next generation of engineers!

We wrapped up our Eurasian strategy meeting in Sweden this week, bringing together an incredible group of colleagues from across the region.

There’s real value in stepping out of the day-to-day to connect in person. The conversations we had, around growth, customer needs, and how we continue to evolve our capabilities, will directly shape how we execute moving forward.

We’re pleased to share that our Pune, India facility recently delivered an important, meaningful CSR initiative at a local primary school, reinforcing our commitment to education and community development 🤝

We donated 100 school benches to enhance classroom infrastructure and provide students with a more comfortable and engaging learning environment.

An event held at the school marked this contribution, and it was truly heartwarming to witness the joy and appreciation from the children and staff alike 💛
