Our Palmer surveying staff is mentoring the University of Massachusetts’ ASCE Surveying Team. This new student organization is preparing to compete in the annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) UESI Surveying Competition. The team’s co-captains met with staff surveyors Tucker Humphrey, S.I.T. and Alexandra Tsiounis at a UMass Amherst career fair and then visited our Palmer office to discuss their project and review their topographic map with Gregory Gould, P.L.S. The map will eventually be submitted to the Rochester Institute of Technology for evaluation in the competition.

The St. Therese project in Everett, MA, included 77 affordable units for seniors, a health center, and six affordable townhouses. Hancock Associates assisted with civil engineering services for this project, which includes a pocket park with architectural elements from the former church, recreational spaces, and a parking area. The $38M project includes a site just over one acre and 90,000 gross sq. ft. of building space.
