There is no concrete in this staircase.
The skeleton is wood. Over that, a compound to shape the curve. Then ATRIA Titanium Microcement, hand-troweled in a few millimeters — treads, risers, stringers, the full balustrade.
No poured slab. No forms. No tile, no stone, no grout lines. One continuous surface from the bottom step to the top rail.
That's the thing microcement does that nothing else can: it takes a shape you could never pour, and makes it read like it was carved from one block.

Most microcement is only protected by its last coat.
The polyurethane sits in the sealer — a thin clear film over a cement, acrylic or epoxy body. Wear that film, scratch it, cure it badly, and the color layer underneath has no polyurethane in it at all.
ATRIA Titanium puts the polyurethane in the color itself. A modified PU resin loaded with quartz, marble sand and Etna volcanic mineral, over a 42 MPa base, under a second polyurethane topcoat. Hard-elastic. Closed-pore. Protected in the body, not just on the surface.
We compared six other microcement systems, document by document — TDS, SDS, system sheets. Not one of them puts polyurethane in the wear layer.
It's a chemistry position, not a headline number.

No tile. No grout. No silicone lines. And it's a shower.
Microcement wet rooms absolutely work — showers, steam rooms, spas. What makes them work is the build: every layer doing its job, in the right order.
Under this shower:
1 · Substrate — levelled, falls to drain
2 · Code-compliant waterproofing membrane
3 · Atriafloor Primer BC
4 · Fiberglass mesh (160 g/m² per the Rasante One sheet)
5 · Rasante One basecoat ×2 — 42 MPa
6 · Titanium ×2 — polyurethane + mineral. Hard-elastic, closed-pore
7 · Atriapol ×2 — PU topcoat, non-yellowing
Worth knowing if you're planning one: the waterproofing is its own layer, and it goes down first. It's part of our specification, not an optional extra. Once it's there, everything above it is finish, wear layer and protection — and built that way, a microcement shower handles daily use, steam and spa without a problem.
One thing that matters in a bathroom specifically: the topcoat is tested to ISO 22196:2011 — 99.999% against E. coli, 99.968% against MRSA. Named lab, published report, available on request.
