We recently partnered with a customer to enhance their existing AutoStore tote conveyor system by adding accumulation capabilities — without the need for a full system replacement.
Our team upgraded a transportation-only belt with VFD motors and developed a new controls strategy with inch-and-store logic that allows totes to accumulate between belt sections. Instead of congestion occurring only at the discharge point, empty totes can now accumulate throughout the entire line.
The result? Improved flow, better utilization of conveyor space, and a significantly more cost-effective solution compared to a complete system overhaul.
