This lathe comes with a powerful 3/4 HP variable speed DC motor. The basic unit comes with 4 foot bed, leadscrew power feed, butt and shaft taper bars, ER Collet headstock with dead center / spur driver and a 1/2″ drill chuck on the tailstock with 60 degree live center and vertical router as well as an auto stop.. It takes up very little room at 5 feet long. This is the perfect machine to do your butt and shaft tapering to keep your other lathes free for other aspects of cue building. The speed range is fast enough to use for sanding and can be slowed down to a crawl for shaft tapering or finishing cues..

48 inch taig based cue lathe with 36 inch gear rack. Lathe bed is mounted on super strong 1.5 inch 8020 aluminum stock. Unit is light and highly portable.

Headstock was made by Bassel at Custom Cue Lathes with a 1.4 inch spindle and 3 jaw chuck so it can hold a pool cue but or wood stock for cue building. It is powered with a Penn State 1/2 horse power variable speed motor. These are very powerful and run smoothly and quietly from low speed to high with a turn of a dial. I added a dpdt switch at the right end of the control box which switches the rotation of the lathe from forward to off or to reverse. When using the lathe your left hand rests atop the controller and your thumb is conveniently resting on the 3 way switch. When running the lathe is very stable at all speeds. This is much better than any board mounted lathe.

This is the machine for the serious cue maker! The Deluxe Cue Smith is probably the best cue lathe ever made in its weight and price range. It is about a foot wide and and six feet long and weighs a little over 100 pounds, not including cabinet and pegboard. It has the same precision dove tail bed as the other Cue Smith Lathes. But from there up the Deluxe is heavier made. Instead of the standard 15mm spindle bore, it has a 1-3/8″ plus Spindle bore. It has a triple bearing headstock and uses the larger 2-L belt, which gives it more torque. It has two more inches of swing than the other lathes, and the steady rest has the larger bore also. The collets can be used in the headstock chuck or the steady rest.
This machine includes the Deluxe Cue Smith headstock with both chucks, the larger handwheel, and larger tailstock. You can use the steady rest behind or in front of the headstock. The headstock has 24 position indexing for cutting points, slots or inlays.
