Some of our favorite fall flowers can give you WAY more than just a few weeks of pretty color!

HARDY/GARDEN MUMS
Don’t be too quick to toss those mums when their fall blooms are finished! When planted in the ground in a good location, garden mums can overwinter and come back from their roots the following year.

Plant them in a sunny spot with well-draining soil, give them time to establish, and add a little mulch for winter protection. With the right care, you may get to enjoy those beautiful mums again!

AND LET’S TALK PANSIES!

Pansies LOVE cool weather and are one of our favorite ways to keep the landscape colorful when so many other flowers are finished for the season.

Plant them in the late fall, and they can provide gorgeous color through the cooler months and put on another beautiful show as temperatures warm in early spring.

Pansies are incredibly cold tolerant once established and come in SO many gorgeous colors and combinations. They’re perfect for flower beds, pots, planters and mixed containers!

Fall planting doesn’t mean the end of gardening season! In fact, mums and pansies are two fantastic ways to keep your yard and porch FULL of color as we head into the cooler weather

Who says your flower beds have to be boring just because summer is over?!

WE’RE HIRING!

We’re looking for a part-time seasonal employee to join us at the Garden Center!

We’re needing someone 2–3 days a week (Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday) who is dependable, hardworking, friendly, and doesn’t mind getting their hands a little dirty!

Duties may include helping customers, watering and caring for plants, stocking and organizing, keeping the Garden Center looking its best, and helping with other day-to-day tasks as needed.

Plant knowledge is a plus, but a willingness to learn is even better!

If you enjoy working outdoors, love plants, and like helping people, we’d love to hear from you!

FRESH SPRING BULB RESTOCK! 🌷

Our spring-flowering bulbs have been RESTOCKED, and now is the perfect time to start planning for a beautiful burst of color next spring!

We have favorites like tulips, daffodils, crocuses, hyacinths & more ready for planting.

When should you plant spring-flowering bulbs?
The best time is in the fall, once the weather and soil begin to cool but before the ground freezes. Spring bulbs need that period of cold weather to prepare for their gorgeous spring show.

🌱 A few planting tips:
• Choose a sunny, well-drained spot
• Plant bulbs with the pointed end facing up
• A good rule is to plant about 2–3 times as deep as the bulb is tall
• Water them in well after planting
• Plant in groups for an extra-big splash of spring color!

NOW is the time to winterize your lawn! Mid September to October is the best time to apply winterizer to your lawn before dormancy starts.

Give your warm-season grass a little help before cold weather arrives! Applying winterizer now helps strengthen the root system, improve cold-weather hardiness, and gives your lawn a better start when it greens back up next spring.

And with rain in the forecast, the timing couldn’t be better! Rain helps water the fertilizer into the soil and get those nutrients down where your lawn can use them.
