What’s in a logo? Sometimes they are generic, but sometimes they have a deeper meaning.
When dreaming of and developing Blissit Engineers, I knew I wanted the logo to represent something incredibly special to me. Something that could make me sit back and reflect on where I came from, where I’ve been, where I am now, and where I am going.
One of the most important pillars of my life has been missing since 2008 - My father, Howard Walker Blissit, passed away from cancer. I was going into my senior year at Texas Tech and Dad and Mom had worked so hard to provide an opportunity for me to extend my education. I finished my senior year and graduated wishing he could see what he was able to provide. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that the feeling of him not being present for milestone events was just the beginning.
I married my wife, Taylor, in 2012. We had Klein Walker Blissit in 2018 (and most recently had Ivy Renee Blissit in 2021). I started Blissit Engineers in 2020 and knew I didn’t want Dad to miss this milestone. So when deciding on the logo, Taylor and I decided to pay tribute to the past, present and future.
Howard Walker Blissit, Scott Walker Blissit, and Klein Walker Blissit.
The three of us are resembled in the three inner dashes in my logo. The circle that holds the core together represents the countless invaluable people that have impacted my life - Notably my mom, wife, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends, etc. They have all played a critical role in helping mold, support, and grow the three men those lines represent.
I’ve been waiting to share the meaning behind my logo and this Father’s Day, as I pay respect to my late father, couldn’t be a better time.
Happy Father’s Day – I hope you enjoy it with your family.
