Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on calibration In-House and On-Site on various level of test and measurement equipment
- Diagnosis and repair various types of test and measurement equipment
- Determine whether various measurement and test equipment meet tolerance specifications.
- Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust equipment to meet tolerance specifications.
- Follow and calibrate to all company policies and procedures
- Produce calibration data forms accurately and efficiently
- Perform urgent/priority calibrations and repairs
- Clean, adjust, calibrate, and repair test and measurement equipment
- Calibrate test and measurement equipment using internally generated calibration procedures or using other sources
- Work to enhance productivity and quality improvements
- Perform tasks associated with calibration such as ordering parts and issuing purchase order
- Participate in our internal and external audits
- Professional customer service is required on-site and in laboratory
- Greet and assist customers in laboratory
- Ensure that all orders and related paperwork are prepared in a timely fashion for daily/monthly shipments
- Perform other laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner
- Assures customer satisfaction in a timely manner
- Participate in our internal and external audits
Requirements
Skills and Experience:
- High School Graduate (required)
- 1 to 2 years+ of college or technical or electrical programs (preferable)
- Proven track record of being on time and dependable
- Working knowledge and understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics with some science
- Proficient in using computers and major components of MS Office suite.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Trouble shooting abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, and all levels of staff
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and support skills
- Takes accountability/responsibility for tasks and actions
- Clear attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Powerful problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANS/NCSL Z-540-1 is a plus, but not required
- A passion for teamwork and a desire for learning
- Able to work independently
- Ability to train others
- Required to have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Ability to perform basic math and algebra functions
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical Demands:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50+ pounds.
