No, you don't need a dash mat. But we've become converts over the years (some of us were cynics). They really do make a huge difference in visibility - especially with the sun causing a distracting glare.

Dash mats also seem to help keep the cab cooler and there's no doubt they help protect the dash from sun damage (and dust!).

🤘 More Heavy Metal 🤘 Brett showed up today for filters and other parts for his 2025 Ram 5500. He bought this truck new and upfitted it as shown...he knew what he was doing - clearly this truck is ready for most anything. ... it was built in May of 2025 and it now has over 100,000 miles on the odometer. And he takes meticulous care of this rig. (We know how many Quick Service Filter kits he's ordered over the past year). A former Duramax owner, this is first Ram Cummins and he's a convert! We were very glad to get to meet him in person.

If you're traveling through Georgia, we're about 40 miles due north of Atlanta and we love getting to meet our customers in person. We're here Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:30PM EST. We don't have a pretty showroom since we're mainly a mail order company but we'll gladly give you the tour and help you out with anything we can for your truck.

HEAVY METAL - Sean sent in the second and third photos shown, with a note about the sunglasses... then another photo arrived (first one shown here) separately - all it said was "heavy metal" and we love that!! 🦾 (We think he should enter that one of his truck and trailer into the TDR calendar contest - just saying from someone who is not a judge BTW!)

HERE'S A FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEA: Get both the diesel and the DEF locking caps for his truck 👍

The use of locking fuel caps and locking DEF caps makes good sense to prevent theft and vandalism. And, as you know, since 2013 Ram stopped equipping their trucks with fuel caps.

Many customers also tell us their motivation to add locking caps is to help prevent someone from accidentally putting DEF into the diesel fill location. DEF in your diesel tank can be a painfully expensive mistake; a mistake that can cost over $10,000 to fix. (Yes, it really does happen.)

Fleets large and small - and those of us who lend our trucks to friends and family, sleep a little easier knowing there is a safety measure in place to help prevent this problem from happening.

"I'm in heaven" says Brandon while driving Robert Schwarzli's 1989 Dodge PROTOTYPE D023 at the UCC show today. (Or, as Schwarzli would tell it, tried to STEAL the truck haha).
