After 38 years of tracking down parts that “should ship tomorrow,” Steve Thurman has officially retired.

Steve spent nearly four decades answering the same question over and over: “You got one back there?” And against all odds… somehow, he usually did. Around here, Steve wasn’t just the Parts Manager — he was also the unofficial soundtrack and PA system of Plateau Truck & Tractor. From surprise singing performances to legendary loudspeaker announcements, he brought energy and character to the workplace every day.

Beyond the laughs and the music, Steve built something lasting — a reputation for reliability, integrity, and genuine care for customers and coworkers. That kind of legacy doesn’t retire; it stays in the culture, the expectations, and the stories shared by those he impacted.
