The Eternal Ride: Honoring Houston County’s Custom Cowboys

Tomorrow marks a significant milestone for **FG Metalwork**. We are honored to be apart of the community to attend to the official dedication of the **Custom Cowboy Memorial**, titled *"The Eternal Ride."*

This monument has been a labor of respect and craftsmanship, designed to serve as a lasting tribute to the deceased custom cowboys of Houston County. Every element was built to withstand the test of time—just like the legacy of those it honors.

**Dedication Event Details**
* **When:** Tomorrow, Saturday, May 2nd
* **Time:** 10:00 a.m.
* **Where:** Crockett Porth Ag Arena (1100 Edmiston Dr., Crockett, TX)

**The Agenda**
The ceremony will include:
* **Welcome & Remarks:** Lonnie Hunt (DETCOG), Mayor Dr. Ianthia Fisher, and County Judge Jim Lovell.
* **Keynote Speaker:** Jim Hodges—Cowboy, Vietnam Combat Veteran, and Author.
* **Presentation:** Official recognition of the artists behind the fabrication.

We are incredibly proud to see this piece take its place in the community. We hope to see you there for the dedication of this monument to the families and the "Eternal Ride" of our local cowboys.

The "Eternal Ride" memorial is officially in the ground honoring The Custom Cowboys of Houston County at the Crockett Agricultural Arena.
The centerpiece features a silhouette of the rider framed by a decorative barbed-wire sunburst, anchored by a massive tiered base. It’s built to weather the elements just like the cowboys it honors.

Breathing new life into Crockett’s history! ⚒️

We recently had the incredible opportunity to work on a special project for Provalus in Crockett, TX.
The mission? Take a piece of "welcome history"—originally donated by local citizens—and refabricate it onto custom legs to stand proud in their grand meeting room.
It was an honor to help preserve this legacy.

A huge thank you to The City of Crockett for their assistance in walking this sign in—it was truly a sight to see!
To round out the space, we also fabricated a custom Provalus logo for a wall display in their main media area.

Artisanship in the Heart of Crockett: The "Paradise of the Pines"

There is a certain weight to history when it’s forged by hand. 🌲🔨
We are incredibly proud to showcase this custom-fabricated metal pinecone, now a permanent fixture in Crockett City Hall. Titled "Paradise of the Pines," this piece serves as a tribute to the deep roots and enduring spirit of East Texas.
The Craft Behind the Steel
Every scale of this pinecone was meticulously shaped by FG Metalwork, right here in the heart of Crockett. Our goal was to blend the rugged strength of forged metal with the natural beauty of the Davy Crockett National Forest.
The accompanying plaque reads:
> "This Cone was Forged in the Heart of Crockett, Texas. Paradise of the Pines. Where David Crockett's Warrior and Frontier Spirit Stand Tall."

It was an honor for FG Metalwork to be commissioned by the Houston County Electric Cooperative (HCEC) to create this custom commemorative piece for Senator Robert Nichols.
This 18" steel emblem features a nickel and gold leaf finish to recognize his work as a “Rural East Texas Champion.”
A big thank you to HCEC for letting us be a part of this special presentation and Lazy Potato Laser Engraving for their collaboration on this special gift.🛠️✨
