Below is an actual letter that's been redacted to show as an example. This 3rd party company is asking for a service fee of $107.25 for a property document. The cost for documents in our office is currently 25 cents per page. A copy of the document referenced below would have been 25 cents in the Clerk's office. FRAUDULENT PROPERTY TRANSFERS! Unfortunately, it's happening more and more including in Teller County. I've issued a press release concerning actions we are taking in the Clerk's office to alert sellers of recorded property transfers. Also, in the near future the Clerk's office will offer a free service to the public in order to monitor and receive alerts of activity concerning their property. More information to come. What is a secrecy sleeve? The secrecy sleeve is meant to do exactly as the name suggests to keep your ballot a secret. Returning your ballot in the sleeve is not required. The return envelope is a secure envelope that protects the secrecy of your ballot. I apologize for any confusion.
