Digital Print Commercial and Industrial Equipment Manufacturer. The Best High-Speed Inkjet Variable Systems.

If you're claustrophobic, best look away. Cause this is a very tight squeeze. But a perfect fit for SWIFT.

The 4.25-inch SWIFT was installed inside a tight section of an existing converting line. As the paper web moves through the equipment and is converted into a padded mailer, the system prints variable data directly onto the material.

Depending on the job, that data can include tracking information, barcodes, sequential numbers, order details or other identifiers that change from one mailer to the next.

This is where a compact inkjet system shows its value. Many production lines do not have these large open sections big enough for a bulky traditional inkjet setup. No one wants to deal with the headache of moving equipment or sending the material through a separate printing process. That just adds unnecessary cost, handling, and production time.

The SWIFT fits the print capability into the space already available. Its small footprint allows variable data to be added at the correct point in production while everything continues through the existing workflow.

If you have a press or converting line where an inkjet system looks impossible to fit, DPi can configure a custom system around your space and application you already have.

It is flu season folks, and if you've ever taken over-the-counter medicine like Mucinex, or any other kind of flu medication akin to it, you have probably pushed a capsule through this material without ever thinking about how the information was printed on it.

The video shows a DPi inkjet system printing directly onto roll-fed aluminum blister foil at a pharmaceutical packaging converter. This thin foil will eventually form the back of a blister pack.

The system applies the pharmaceutical identification shown in the video directly to the foil. Depending on the application, the same process can print dosage information, barcodes, lot and batch numbers, expiration dates, serial numbers and other required data.

After printing, the foil is slit and rewound before being sent to a packaging line. Capsules or tablets are placed into formed plastic cavities, and the printed foil is heat-sealed over the back. The finished package protects the medication until the patient presses it through the foil.

Printing on this material takes the right equipment. Pharmaceutical blister foil is thin, reflective and nonporous. Ink adhesion, web control and print clarity have to remain consistent while the material moves through production and later undergoes sealing.

For converters working with blister foils or other nonporous packaging materials, DPi can configure an inkjet system around the required print width, ink, production speed and data workflow.

Here is an example of a corrugated printing setup that uses three M7 systems, each configured to print a separate spot color.

This customer had an application that called for three independently controlled print systems on one wide corrugated transport setup. We worked with the customer and configured the placement, mounting, and controls around the customer’s board sizes, color requirements, and production workflow.

Adaptability is a major part of what we do at DPi. Sometimes it's straightforward and easy, and the applications fit a standard configuration. Others require something designed specifically for the work.

If you have a unique problem, we have a unique solution.

It's well known that margins in printing are won and lost on the production floor.

Which is exactly why it is so important to do as much of the process in-house as you can. Sending variable data work to a third party just adds more unnecessary cost, another headache in the production schedule, and complicates things with having to hand it off to someone else. Bringing that capability in-house gives you much more control over turnaround times. Not to mention peace of mind over quality and last-minute job changes.

The inkjet system you choose matters just as much. Poor print quality leads to wasted material and reprints. And if you're having something go wrong every other day, causing downtime, it slows the entire line and cuts into the profit from every run. When margins are tight, those losses add up quickly.

Your inkjet system should work for your operation, not against it. DPi has built a reputation on building a system that works. A reliable system that configures around your equipment, production speed and workflow to provide dependable variable data printing where you already produce the job.

A closer look at a recent M7 installation.

With this operation, the web moves through the press as normal while the M7 adds variable data directly onto the substrate without breaking up the production line. Product data, codes, identifiers, versioned information, and other job-specific print can be placed onto the material as it runs, instead of being handled in a separate offline step.

Then the press begins to move, and the job data is sent to the inkjet system. The M7 fires at the exact moment the substrate passes beneath it and lays down unique code in the precise right place while the production continues to run at full speed, never slowing down once.

For label and packaging operations, that kind of integration is a game changer. More jobs are asking for traceability, serialization, smart label support, versioning, shorter runs, and production flexibility, and being equipped to do this in-house without handing it off to a third party expands those margins per job exponentially.

That is what DPi systems are for.

We build inkjet systems around the equipment, space, speed, substrate, and application already in front of us. Whether the job is labels, packaging, direct mail, forms, or another variable data application, the goal is the same: bring inkjet into the workflow where it makes the most sense.

Here's a recent DPi installation built around high-volume label and packaging production.
This application is focused on adding variable inkjet capability directly into an existing production workflow, giving the operator more flexibility for product labels, serialized information, traceability marks, versioned jobs, and other production data that needs to be printed cleanly at speed.

That is another area a DPi system was built to shine in.

Instead of moving the job offline or adding unnecessary steps, inkjet is integrated where the work is already happening. For label converters and packaging manufacturers, that flexibility matters. More jobs are requiring changing data, shorter runs, tighter version control, and printed information that has to stay tied to the product as it moves through production.

If this sounds similar to your operation, and you have been debating whether to pull the trigger on a new inkjet system or add variable capability to your floor for the first time, contact us.

Let’s see what it would take to get you started.

Anyone who has been in this industry for any amount of time knows how important ink cost can be.

With DPi systems, our ink cost efficiency helps keep the cost per printed mark extremely low. Barcodes, QR codes, addresses, lot codes, serial numbers, and other variable data can be printed at real volume without turning consumables into the problem.

That matters on long runs. It matters on margin-sensitive jobs. It matters when customers are asking for more data and more versioning without wanting to pay more than they have to.

For the price of a cup of coffee, DPi systems can print more than 100,000 barcodes, QR codes, addresses, and similar variable marks.

That is the kind of cost efficiency that adds up REAL fast.

Here is a look at a recent DPi system installation running clear security label film.

This type of application is a good example of where industrial inkjet has to do more than print on easy material. Security label work often involves specialty films, tight placement and production requirements that leave very little room for inconsistency.

In this setup, the system is printing barcodes and QR codes onto a translucent polyester film used for security and identification applications. Materials like this can be more demanding than standard paper or label stock because contrast, adhesion, web handling, and code readability all have to hold up as the job moves through production.

For shops doing security labels, tamper-evident products, authentication work, durable labels, or traceability-focused packaging, the ability to print variable codes directly onto specialty film opens the door to higher-value jobs.

That is where DPi systems fit well. We help manufacturers and converters bring variable inkjet into the workflow they already have, giving them the ability to run security-focused jobs without sending that capability somewhere else.
