Thank you to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources for the invitation to speak on tillage practices. Soil health is vital to keep farmers thriving and something we are always interested in talking about. 🌱
BWSR Academy, Day 2. Scenes from Wednesday’s “Mastering Soil Health Equipment” session, part of the wetlands and soils program track. Craig Kesteloot of Sterling Equipment & Repair and Jodi DeJong-Hughes of the University of Minnesota Extension showed the machinery used in no-till, strip-till and conventional tillage systems.

BWSR Academy wraps up today near Brainerd. Through 90-minute sessions and workshops, the hands-on, annual training is designed for local government staff who work in conservation. Sessions are organized into tracks focused on fiscal management, organizational capacity, outreach, programs, technical work, and wetlands and soils.
