Is a big cooling tower the best cooling tower? Generally, physically larger cooling towers are more efficient because they typically have more heat transfer media (fill) volume, allowing them to use less air flow and lower fan power for increased energy savings.

However, numerous combinations of physical tower size and fan power can meet certain temperature requirements for a specific water flow.
