Heartbreaking Update: A fundraiser has been created for the daughter who lost her parents and three brothers in the devastating flash flooding near a Wayne County campground.

The fundraiser identifies the victims as a Mona, Utah family including Spencer Long, his wife Katrina, and their sons Reid, Thayne and Gage. Organizers say the family's daughter, Lydia, survived but is now facing the unimaginable loss of her entire immediate family.

Spencer Long was a member of Provo Fire & Rescue

Katrina Long was the Cofounder of Summit Medical Spa.

The money raised will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, housing, counseling, daily living costs and other needs as Lydia begins to rebuild her life.

The tragedy unfolded Friday near Sunglow Campground, outside Bicknell, after heavy rain triggered flash flooding. Three family members were found Friday evening, and two others were located following an extensive search Saturday.

My thoughts are with this young woman as she faces life without her family and all who knew and loved this beautiful family.

The Utah Jr. Grizzlies is hosting a checking clinic designed for 2013 birth year players entering the 14U division this coming season. This clinic teaches the fundamentals of checking in ice hockey - the right way.

Athletes will learn proper body checking technique, positioning, and awareness so they can deliver and receive checks safely and confidently during games and practices. Building these skills correctly from the start protects players, builds confidence, and sets them up for success at the 14U level and beyond.

The cost for this clinic will be $50.00 for both sessions and will cover all aspects of checking. It's that time of year again. Tryout registration opens Friday for the 2026-2027 season. Come try out for the Utah Junior Grizzlies and become part of history. In 2026, the Junior Grizzlies were State Champions at both 14U and 16U Tier II, and we just had six players advance through the Utah State Selection Camp. We are very proud of all our players and coaches, and now we get to continue the process of developing the next great players in Utah.

We are so proud to announce that both our 14U and 16U Tier II teams are 2026 Tier II State Champions! Both squads went undefeated throughout state playoffs — a true testament to the dedication and talent of our athletes, the guidance of our incredible coaching staff, and the strength of the Jr Grizzlies organization from top to bottom. Moments like these are a reflection of our amazing coaches and the incredible foundation this organization has built. We are so proud of everyone who is part of this family!

Huge congrats to our 14U Tier II players and coaches on their state championship win in Park City! After an undefeated state playoff run, the Junior Grizzlies secured their spot in the USA Hockey National Tournament in Dallas, Texas. We couldn't be prouder of this team.
