In 1968, Charles Shivvers, founder of Shivvers Manufacturing, created
the tapered sweep auger, which became the basis for the first commercially successful Continuous Counter-Flow Grain Drying System. Shivvers Manufacturing transformed the industry again in 1984 with the development of the COMPU-DRY™, the first computerized control unit for drying grain. In 1984, Shivvers diversified the company's product offering and began the development of zero-turn mowers. Shivvers Manufacturing was one of the first manufacturers in the zero-turn industry. In the early years, Shivvers designed and produced zero-turn mowers for other leaders in the industry. By the late 1990's the Country Clipper division was created, and the Country Clipper brand was introduced as the exclusive zero-turn mower produced by Shivvers. Today, the Country Clipper brand features a broad lineup of zero-turn mowers for residential, estate, and commercial applications, marketed through independent dealers throughout the United States and several foreign countries.
