In 2022 TC designed a durable and dependable bolt-on lower ball joint upgrade. A 1” uniball conversion for the Gen 1 Tacoma, Gen 3 4Runner & Gen 1 Tundra and Sequoia. 🇺🇸

The TC Lower Uniball Conversion is a Game Changer!

- CNC machined AISI 1018 billet steel construction.
- TOTAL CHAOS includes 1” I.D. uniballs that feature a heat-treated stainless-steel ball & heat treated stainless-steel race for maximum corrosion resistance and component longevity. These uniballs also feature a military grade PTFE woven fabric liner that helps prevent noise.
- Built in locating pins and registering center ring lock into the spindle and lessen the shear load on the mounting hardware.
- Designed to reduce bump steer and improve steering geometry.

This 2013 FJ is on the 2nd owner and has the original parts installed from 2013. It has over 70,000 miles on the equipment.

This particular FJ owner has been chasing some slop in the steering and an unusual metal on metal noise that they started to hear while driving.

Performing routine inspection and maintenance at home will prevent you from having to grab your tool bag out on the trial.

We heard those bushing squeaks and your frustration from urethane pivot bushings. We finally have the perfect combination of grease and a brand new urethane bushing compound that we spent 8 months developing and testing on our personal fleet of TC equipped Toyota’s.

Hush Butter, our icky-sticky waterproof grease of choice, partnered with a new custom bushing compound, is a game changer for eliminating the squeaks and noise previously associated with TOTAL CHAOS Gen 1 urethane bushings! ALL POLYURETHANES ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL.

We are offering the best blend of polyurethanes that are specific for our preferred hardness – mechanical properties – durability and resilience to our harsh off-road environments. Polyurethane bushings offer the ideal balance of performance, durability, and comfort, making them the superior choice for suspension pivots compared to traditional rubber or uniball pivots. Unlike rubber bushings, polyurethane significantly resists deflection/deformation, ensuring consistent alignment and precise handling characteristics on and off-road.

TC suspension systems are designed to be fully serviceable and rebuildable 🧰

Replacement bushing and uniball kits will keep your equipment performing like the day it was originally installed it. We’ve been behind the scenes at camp CHAOS testing several new grease and bushing combo to make our equipment perform even better than before in all conditions. We have found a combination that has greatly reduced the bushing squeaks that are associated with urethane pivot bushings.

We use urethane bushings for their performance benefits and have never made the claim that they don’t make noise. We use urethane bushings on all of our pivots for a tighter steering response and the high speed handling benefits on and off-road. We don’t want bushing deflection on our suspension systems. We are a performance brand, not a just for looks upgrade. You have other options for that.
