Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed the course of our history. On that September morning, thousands of innocent lives were lost, families were changed forever, and communities across our country were deeply affected.
In the days and years that followed, we witnessed an extraordinary sense of unity. Americans came together to support one another, to help those in need, and to stand together with a renewed sense of patriotism and compassion. For a time, the things that divided us seemed far less important than the things we shared.
A great deal has happened in the 25 years since that fateful Tuesday morning. As we mark this anniversary, we hope everyone will take a moment to pause and remember the lives that were lost, the families and loved ones left behind, and the countless first responders, service members, volunteers, and ordinary citizens who answered the call to help.
May this anniversary also remind us of the strength we have when we stand together, care for one another, and remember that we are all part of something greater than ourselves.
Today, let us come together as fellow Americans to honor those we lost and those whose lives were forever changed.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
