We just finished up inspections on this wetland mitigation project we designed back in 2020. We completed Army Corps 404 permiting and Summit County Wetland permiting for the project. The mitigation area became a major part of the overall stormwater management for the parcel and downstream properties. We also had the pleasure of coordinating with the wetland consultant and builder for the downstream property.

Is it silt? Is it clay? NOPE! It's a salamander! In fact our state amphibian! TIGER SALAMANDER!

Soil testing in the high country, during the fall season. We are so grateful to be connected to nature, while working hard. He's a little dirty, but has the true tiger salamander colors and it was in the mid 30 degree F temperatures when we met. Burrr!

First US Highway 285 clean up! We only made 1 mile on one side of the highway, but still managed to fill 20 bags of trash!

We learned a few things along the way.

1) Bring backpacks for snacks, water and to carry the trash bags.
2) Highway 285 drivers do an impressive/depressing amount of drinking while driving
3) What we consider litter, many bugs, worms and snakes consider the perfect place to exist.
4) Trash pick up is harder than it looks.
