C4 Precision Machining

It’s been a busy few weeks in the shop! 🛠️📐

Students have been putting their skills to work with everything from custom projects and lathe threading using the three-wire method to orthographic blueprints and milling machine fundamentals. We’ve also covered dial caliper reading, mill safety, tooling, machine operations, and blueprint title blocks.

We even mixed in some creativity with sidewalk chalk before fall break and a custom lightsaber project for Earth & Space Science! ⚙️🌎✨

Lots of learning, creating, and hands-on experience happening every day!

Highlights from Week 1! We learned classroom and lab expectations and got to know each other! Completed a couple of scavenger hunts in the machine lab and even learned about orthographic projections in blueprint reading!

We have kicked off 26-27 Precision Machining! The students went on a scavenger hunt Friday to locate and identify some of the first tools they will be using! With their group, they were to upload pictures and descriptions.
