I believe teaching makes me a better craftsman. It forces me to think about what I'm doing and how to articulate that so another person can understand what I mean.
It helps that is a very good student!

How cool is it that Brothers Drake Meadery loved our tent and banners enough to share this photo!

Ashville Viking Festival! 10am-6pm Sunday! Brothers Drake is in the mead hall! Follow the music 🎶 to the stage. That’s where we are! Pouring until 4:30pm. Bottles to go are available!

First coat of finish going on a kumihimo marudai.
We build our marudai from single width boards so there's never a glue joint to content with. Over time as wood expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, glue joints can create problems for braiding fine fibers.

We'll have marudai available in person at the Asheville Viking Festival and on the website this weekend!

Jonathan Krauss walked i to my tent and tells me he is find quirky things to balance on his nose. I'm not a nice person, so I suggested a chair.
He accepted and did it like a champion!
