Hot take: Social media promotion should work a lot like NASCAR. If a brand is paying someone to push a product, they should have to wear that brand's logo on their shirt (or get a tattoo).
Right now, there is so much misinformation swirling around the automotive community, heavily pushed by influencers with lined pockets behind the scenes. Let’s talk about the biggest myth they are spreading right now.
The Myth: Paying 3x to 5x more for a part is justified because the affordable alternative is "just a copy." If you want to spend more to support a specific high-dollar brand, we totally respect that! But the idea that a part is automatically inferior simply because it’s cheaper? We aren't buying it. If it takes 30 minutes in CAD to draw, it shouldn't cost 5x the material cost (see our throttle body adapter).
We’ve already seen this mindset shift in the wheel industry. Drivers are realizing that if the quality is the same and the designs are similar, they don't need to overpay. It’s time for the performance parts industry to catch up.
Here is the reality of aftermarket manufacturing that the "copy" crowd won't tell you: There is no "copy/paste" in CNC. You can't just 3D scan a part, hit print, and send it to the machine. Drawing, testing, and refining a functional product takes real R&D. Form follows function. There are only so many ways to design a product meant to replace an OEM counterpart. Designing a part just to look different when there's no functional benefit only serves the brand trying to sell it. Evolution is necessary. Unapologetically, if there is a great existing design that can be improved upon, it’s a disservice to sell you something functionally inferior purely for the sake of aesthetics.
Our goal has always been simple: The best products at the best prices. We have some truly innovative releases just around the corner, and we can’t wait to show them to you. We will always choose function over form, and performance over profit.
Thank you for being a part of our process.
