The maiden voyage of the Queen Elizabeth 2 started from Southampton, England on its way to New York City in May of 1969. It sailed across the Atlantic (mostly) until 2008 and has since been remodeled into a floating 4-star hotel in Dubai. Mid-City Lumber also launched in 1969 and has supplied enough lumber to build this ocean liner and then some!
