If you’ve ever migrated from one B/OSS to another, you know it’s not just plug-and-play.

Zac Cutler knows that too, because he’s been on the provider side.

Before joining Vision, Zac ran frontline operations at a telecom provider, managing everything from provisioning to customer support. He’s lived the pain of disconnected systems and clunky handoffs. That experience shapes how he approaches every implementation.

Today, as Implementation Project Manager, he helps providers go live with workflows that actually fit how they work.

Most implementations start messy.
Zac begins with the data. He imports what matters, cleans what doesn’t, and builds workflows around your real processes. No guessing. No patchwork. Just structure that works, from day one to day 10,000.

What changes when it clicks?
Providers install times cut down by a fraction, powered by better workflows and fewer bottlenecks.

This isn’t theory. It’s operational instinct.
Zac brings real examples, pressure-tests edge cases, and adjusts in real time. He doesn’t just implement, he operationalizes.

Off the clock?
You’ll find him on the Missouri River, boating or water skiing with his daughter.

He’s the guy who’ll cut down your install time, then head for the sandbar.

We don’t take it for granted when people travel five, ten, even thirteen hours just to spend a few days with us in our hometown Columbia, MO.

The Vision User Conference wasn’t just about software features. It was about seeing what’s working in communities from coast to coast—and hearing providers swap notes, push each other’s thinking, and challenge the way broadband operations have always been done.

What we saw:
• Teams reshaping workflows to evolve how they operate
• Providers sharing automation strategies and saying goodbye to spreadsheets
• Vendors choosing collaboration over pitch decks

One Vision client summed it up best:
“I’ve learned so much just from hearing how others use it—it kinda feels like an extension of our company.”

We’re leaving the week clearer, sharper, and more connected to the people shaping what’s next.

🚀 Exciting News for Vision! 🚀

We’re thrilled to welcome Andrew Finkelstein as our new Chief Revenue Officer! With a deep passion for broadband and decades of experience driving growth, Andrew has led high-impact sales teams, secured Fortune 500 deals, and helped companies scale to billions in revenue.

What drew him to Vision? As an electrical engineer, he’s always been fascinated by the mechanics of the internet and how technology fuels connectivity. But what truly stood out was Vision’s ability to seamlessly support multi-vendor environments, PON, and FWA networks—giving ISPs the flexibility to build networks that serve their communities, not just their bottom line. That kind of adaptability is exactly what service providers need to thrive.

Now, he’s focused on taking Vision even further—expanding its reach, strengthening partnerships, and helping more ISPs harness the full power of the platform. His leadership is rooted in accountability and collaboration, ensuring that when Vision grows, its customers grow too. Because success isn’t just about selling a product—it’s about building trust, delivering on promises, and creating real opportunities for ISPs to scale.

Andrew’s expertise and vision (pun intended!) will be key as we continue empowering service providers with the tools they need to streamline operations, drive revenue, and build stronger broadband networks.

Join us in welcoming Andrew to the team! 💪

Meet the Team: Nicholas Peña – Vice President of Fibersmith

Some careers start with a plan. Others start with a leap.

23 years ago, Nicholas Peña was working as an entry-level accounting systems developer. It was stable work, but something about traditional IT didn’t click. A friend at a local ISP, Socket, had great things to say about the company, so Nick took a leap of faith into telecom and never looked back.

What kept him in the industry wasn’t just the technology. It was the responsibility ISPs had in connecting people, especially in rural communities. At the time, he and his fellow Socketeers were a group of young professionals entrusted with the enormous responsibility of serving some of the most underserved areas in Missouri. That experience planted the seed for what he’d go on to do at Fibersmith.

Nick’s life changed when he met Donny Smith. For years, Donny had been telling ISPs, “You have to do fiber,” but for providers making by on dial-up and resold DSL, it felt out of reach. Donny and Nick had a shared vision of a connected rural America.

After successfully designing and building hundreds of miles of fiber together, the same thought kept coming to the surface: "We could share this with more providers. We could help ISPs build fiber the right way using better tools and processes than might otherwise be available to them." That’s how Fibersmith was born.

Nick’s Philosophy on Building Fiber:
✔ Think long-term. Plan more than you think you need to.
✔ Technology should serve the business, not the other way around.
✔ Big investments require big-picture thinking.

And what’s he doing when not optimizing fiber networks? You’ll probably find him restoring old arcade machines. His favorite cabinet right now is his 1982 Midway Tron arcade machine, which is also the first one he’s convinced his eleven-year-old son and daughter to play. The one he’s been chasing is a 1983 Environmental Discs of Tron, a white whale for collectors.

Want to talk broadband, business strategy, or have a lead on that Tron cabinet? Drop a comment below!

Broadband isn’t just about connection—it’s about creating opportunities for families, students, and businesses to thrive in a digital world.

That’s why Vision is here: to help telecom providers deliver reliable, life-changing services, especially in communities often left behind.

Our mission comes down to three core beliefs:

With Midwestern roots, we value honesty and doing what we say we’ll do. Our focus isn’t on flashy trends—it’s on delivering tools that make a measurable difference.

Vision isn’t just software—it’s a partnership. Together, we can bring broadband to every doorstep and build a future where connection is for everyone. 🌐
