U.S. manufacturing activity expanded for the eighth consecutive month in August, according to the latest ISM Manufacturing PMI.
The PMI registered 54.6%, down from 55.6% in July but still firmly in expansion territory.
Other key measures, including new orders, production and employment, also remained above 50%, although each declined from July. Meanwhile, manufacturers continued to report challenges around pricing volatility, longer lead times, tariffs and slowing supplier deliveries.
