Help Wanted: Delivery Driver / Flexible Staff Member

We are seeking a reliable Delivery Driver / Flexible Staff Member to join our team. This position offers 30-35 hours per week, with a portion of that time spent assisting various departments as needed.

Position Details:

Primary Role: Delivery Driver
Additional Duties: Assisting in departments including shipping and receiving, inventory, custodial, etc., as needed
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Pay: $12 - $18 per hour, based on experience
Qualifications:

Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable using GPS-based software for deliveries
Proficient with computer software to verify part condition and correct delivery
Deliveries generally do not exceed a 1-hour travel time from Coldwater
Requirements:

Valid driver’s license
Strong organizational skills
Ability to follow directions and work independently
Good time management skills

Automotive Dismantler / Depollution Technician

As an Automotive Dismantler / Depollution Technician, you will play a crucial role in the automotive recycling industry. Your primary responsibility will be to dismantle end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) efficiently and safely, ensuring the removal of valuable parts and hazardous materials. You’ll contribute to environmental sustainability by depolluting vehicles and preparing them for recycling.

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Dismantling:
Disassemble ELVs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
Safely remove components such as engines, transmissions, suspension parts, and electrical systems.
Follow established procedures to minimize damage to reusable parts.
Tag and organize salvaged parts for inventory management.
Depollution:
Drain fluids (engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, etc.) from vehicles.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, including batteries, airbags, and refrigerants.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during depollution processes.
Quality Control:
Inspect salvaged parts for quality and functionality.
Identify reusable components and separate them from non-reusable materials.
Maintain accurate records of dismantled vehicles and salvaged parts.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow guidelines for handling hazardous substances.
Comply with workplace safety regulations and best practices.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly.
Report any malfunctioning tools or safety hazards to supervisors.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in automotive dismantling, salvage yards, or related fields preferred.
Knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and mechanical processes.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment safely.
Familiarity with environmental regulations related to vehicle depollution.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy parts.

Doug’s Auto Recyclers scrap metal scale/Truck scales will be closed for maintenance starting Thursday, October 5th through Friday, October 13th. We will be installing an updated scale system to better serve our customers. Complete automobiles can still be purchased using publicly available curb weight information. Thank you for your patience while this upgrade is being carried out.

Tired of putting cars back together? Join our team! We disassemble and recycle cars and light trucks. We are currently dismantling vehicles between the model years of 2014 and 2023.
You can make up to $22 per hour with benefits such as paid time off, major holidays off, weekends off, and free fuel.
Performance bonuses are available.
Job details include:
Remove driveline from late model vehicles (2013-2022) in an orderly manner including engines, transmissions, front carriers, rear axles, etc.
Remove, identify, and grade electronic components and sheet metal parts.
Properly remove environmentally hazardous fluids and materials from vehicles.
Professionally test, tag, and label major component parts including sheet metal, lighting, electronics, etc.
Requirements:
Automotive mechanical experience is required.
ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
Technician-owned tools are preferred but not required, we can provide tools.
Attendance, Monday through Friday, is required.
The ability to be self-motivated is required.
