Putnam Machine is seeking a full-time CNC Programmer or CNC Programmer trainee to perform the following duties.

Duties:
• Create G-Code/EIA machine-tool programs for various computer-numerical-controlled mill and turning centers, prove them out at the machine-tool, and optimize them for production.
• Assist sales in process planning and cycle-time estimating.
• Assist purchasing in the selection of the most suitable cutting tools, toolholders, and work-holding devices.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of processes to increase quality, reduce cost, and meet the goals of the quality management system.
• Occasionally assist management in the direction and training of shop floor associates.
• Participate in regular management review meetings in pursuit of QMS goals.
• Recommend and help select machine tools, tooling, and software used in CNC machining processes.

Desired abilities:
• Familiarity with the use of Solidworks CAD software, CAMWorks integrated CAM Software, Autodesk FeatureCAM CAM software. MasterCAM experience also useful.
• Ability to program and operate Fanuc lathe controls, Mazak lathe and mill controls (EIA mode), Okuma OSP-P300 controls, and Kitamura Arumatic-Mi (Mitsubishi Meldas M700V) controls.
• Manual (G-Code) programming experience.
• Ability to interpret mechanical design drawings, dimensional tolerances, and GD&T.
• Ability to accurately use precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Experience in operating CNC machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Experience in CAD Solid modeling.
• Ability to work with CAM software distributors to fine-tune machine tool post processors.

Compensation:
• Salary is commensurate with experience ranging from $40K for an individual with limited prior experience to $75K or more for an individual with comprehensive machine-tool programming, tool selection, fixture design, and process planning skills.

Putnam Machine is seeking to fill several open, full-time, day and night shift CNC lathe and machining center operator positions. These positions are open to those with and without prior experience.

Duties:
• Load CNC Lathes and Machining centers with blanks and unload machined workpieces.
• Set-up CNC machine tools for production (Only after suitable training).
• Measure significant characteristics of the workpieces during the machining process or summon a quality technician to measure specifications that cannot be verified at the work center.
• Assist management in the process of continuous improvement of the machining or assembly processes.

Desired abilities:
• Previous CNC or manual machining experience.
• Ability to interpret mechanical design drawings and dimensional tolerances.
• Ability to accurately use precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Ability to work as part of a team to achieve short and long-term goals.
• Ability to diligently follow work instructions, especially safety procedures.

Hours:
• First Shift Hours: 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Monday through Friday)
• Second Shift Hours: 3:30PM to 2:00AM (Monday through Thursday)

Compensation:
• Salary is commensurate with experience ranging from $15.00/hour for an individual with limited prior experience to $22.00/hour or more for an individual with comprehensive CNC machining and set-up experience.
