Induction forging some odd shaped steel 😬 Finally taking some time to learn more about this machine. So far I've been REALLY impressed with what it's capable of.

TWIST damascus in the induction forge 🔥

Let's practice some isolated heats with the induction forge on this twist damascus scrap.

The heat is definitely there and the twist is nice and tight!

NEW TOOL DAY! I've been wanting one of these for a long time and it's finally here!

I push the band saw pretty hard, well beyond what it's probably meant for 😅 Swapping blades in the middle of a project can be a pain, but it really is safer and fast in the end.

What tool/consumable do you push to the limit? Are you a 2x72 belt hoarder like me?! 😭

Handle Design Details Part 2:
Ever wonder how to get the bolster looking crispy and polished? Take 60 seconds and see how I do it 😎 This is the video for you! We are building on the video from yesterday on the next steps of handle design.

A lot of time is spent on the bolster area prior to glue up. It's a major challenge to work on it after glue up, but it's more than that. The bolster is a critical design aspect that shows the flow of the design from handle to blade.

Let's talk handle design a bit. One of the ways I keep the proportion of my handles looking good is to use the pomel side of the handle to space out my front bolster area.

This all relies on the original pin layout, but a wonky bolster area or bad pin spacing can really effect the look of your final project.

I do it this way and I'm sure there are no other ways out there. How do you design your handles?
