We are excited to introduce another material offering: PC-ABS. This one is already a favorite. With print quality comparable to PLA, this polycarbonate (PC) and ABS blend is a high strength material intended for tough environments and engineering applications. It has high heat deflection and impact resistance that make it a great choice for more demanding applications. Polycarbonate also has a high glass transition temperature of 150° Celsius. This means it will maintain its structural integrity up to that temperature, making it suitable for use in high-temperature applications. It can also be used in applications where some minor flexibility is required.

With multiple certifications and completed projects, we can bring any napkin sketch in to the digital space that is ready for manufacturing. A recent example is a service we provided to a client who needed a mock-up created for an addition to a historical cabin. The addition consisted of 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a small living space; all while preserving the cabin’s original structure. We were even able to 3D print a model of the design when complete! Quality production 3D-printed parts are one of the many services that Raido Product Development offers. A key aspect in maintaining part quality is through filament drying. Most plastics absorb high amounts of moisture over time, causing poor surface finishes and weak material properties. To demonstrate how important this is, the first photo shown is with a dried PETG filament and has identical print settings to the second image, which is not dried. Every part that comes off our printers is made with robust, dried filaments where we monitor the humidity in-house to ensure only highest quality parts for our customers.

We recently had the pleasure of finishing up a project for The Knotty Tree LLC with a full napkin sketch to production product launch. The Knotty Tree is a unique, durable, and realistic cover that snaps around the base of artificial Christmas trees to hide the unattractive look of the green and fuzzy tree trunk. This product underwent many design iterations and prototyping where we kept all production in-house with our specialized CAD and 3D printing services. We utilized 5 of our available machines to produce 1200 parts in less than an 8 week lead time. The best part, is the design was also optimized for injection molding, so when the company chooses to create hundreds of thousands of units at a time, they have all the material they need for the manufacturers to move forward.
