The EA office in Billings recovered and rehabilitated a Stone marking a Standard ¼ Corner on a Township line in Wheatland County, Montana, which was scribed and set in 1878. Remarkably, the ¼ is still clearly visible on the stone 148 years later!

Nicholson Dirt Contracting has been keeping EA busy out at the new Wyoming State Shooting Complex this year. Lots of dirt moving and some rock blasting has happened in the past month. Welcome Marcus Moore to the Powell Office! Marcus was born in Seoul, South Korea, but calls Riverton, WY his hometown. He enlisted into the Army at the age of 18 and served three years in the active component and continues to serve in the Wyoming National Guard. Marcus taught at the adult basic education center at CWC after completing his associate’s degree. In May he graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. In his spare time, Marcus enjoys hiking, fishing, going to the gym, and spending time with his family.

Welcome Ashely Rodriguez to the Powell Office! Ashley is from a small town called Hawarden, in northwest Iowa. She attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD where she received her bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 2025. During college Ashley played for an intramural co-ed soccer team with fellow classmates and before college she played for her high school girls soccer team and an indoor league at northwestern during the winter. After graduation she welcomed the newest addition to her family, Kota, her dog, and moved to Wyoming where she’s still getting used to the amazing views. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, hiking, kayaking, hunting, audio books, and recently started gardening.

Join us for the 2nd Annual Wyoming Engineering & Surveying Society Golf Tournament on August 7 at the Douglas Community Club & Golf Course.

This event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow engineers, surveyors, and industry professionals while supporting WES scholarships and awards programs that help invest in the future of our profession.

Tournament Details:

• Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.

• 4-person teams – $500 per team

• Individual players – $125 each (individuals will be assigned to a team)

• Space is limited, so register early
