Before Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to recognize the importance of environments designed to support mental and behavioral healthcare.

Behavioral health facilities require a thoughtful approach to building systems that support patient comfort, safety, privacy, and care for both patients and staff. These environments are designed to support some of the most important work happening within our communities every day.

We’re proud to contribute to projects that help create supportive environments for care, healing, and wellbeing.

We had a great time at the first-ever NAIOP Central Ohio Pickleball Tournament last week! Eric Larson and Jarrod Gilliam represented Karpinski Engineering at the inaugural event, connecting with others across the local real estate and development community, both on and off the court.

It’s always valuable to spend time with others in the industry and stay connected to what’s happening across the Central Ohio market. Thanks to NAIOP Central Ohio for putting together a great event.

Help us make a difference - consider donating at Karpinski’s annual American Red Cross Blood Drive this Thursday, May 21.

There is a critical need for blood donations, and we encourage employees, family members, friends, and community partners to consider donating. Our goal is 20 donors, and every donation truly makes a difference.

This year’s drive is also highlighting the importance of Power Red donations, a specialized donation process that allows eligible donors to safely give twice as many red blood cells as a traditional whole blood donation. Individuals with blood types O+, O-, A-, and B- are especially encouraged to consider this option.

All donors will receive:
• A $20 Amazon e-gift card
• An oversized Red Cross beach towel

Registration Code: KARPINSKI

The drive is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. Please use the link below to register:

Every donation saves lives. Thank you to everyone for helping support this important effort.

The Progressive Field Ballpark Improvements project has received a National Recognition Award from ACEC as part of the 2026 Engineering Excellence Awards.

After receiving an ACEC Ohio Outstanding Award earlier this year, the project advanced to the national competition as a representative of Ohio engineering, earning recognition for the collaboration, creativity, and technical expertise behind this transformational renovation of one of Cleveland’s most iconic destinations.

Thank you to our clients, partners, and project team, whose vision and collaboration helped bring this project to life and redefine the fan experience at Progressive Field.

Great discussion yesterday at the SMPS Cincinnati event on the future of academic spaces. Jenn Wahl and Adam Wolf joined higher education leaders and industry partners for a thoughtful conversation around how learning environments are evolving to support changing student needs, teaching styles, and long-term institutional goals.

The panel explored the relationship between educational priorities, planning strategies, and the design of spaces that encourage flexibility, collaboration, and inclusivity across campus environments.

Thank you to SMPS Cincinnati and the panelists for bringing together such an engaging conversation around the future of higher education.

Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute is steadily advancing, with construction progress bringing this highly specialized facility further into focus.

What began as a one-million-square-foot concept to unify care, research, and innovation is now actively advancing through construction. As Engineer of Record for MEPT & Fire Protection Design Services, Karpinski Engineering is working alongside Stantec and the integrated project team to translate complex design into coordinated, buildable systems.

Purpose-built for neurological care, this facility is designed to bring together multidisciplinary teams across neurology, neurosurgery, and research into a single, integrated environment, supporting a more patient-centered, disease-specific approach to treating complex brain, spine, and nervous system conditions. This integrated approach supports seamless coordination across specialties and creates an environment that meets the evolving needs of patients and care teams.

This latest look highlights the project's evolution and the collaboration required to deliver a complex, high-performance healthcare facility.
