The Basics
Gent Machine Company originally began as a small machine shop in 1927 and has evolved into a go-to supplier of small, custom precision parts utilized by businesses in the automotive, defense, fi****ms, hydraulics, industrial supply, law enforcement and other various industries. We are a 9001:2015 & IATF 16949:2016 certified contract manufacturer of screw machine parts.
We are searching for an experienced, dependable and safety conscious leader for our CNC department(s). This individual must have some leadership experience, CNC programming experience, CNC lathe setup experience and CNC mill setup experience.

What Will You Be Doing?
Communicate with machinists to ensure production is running optimally
Program and setup CNC lathe and mills
Work with other supervisors, maintenance, and/or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions
Put together job boxes for future orders – ensure all tools are in stock
Accurately complete all quality control documentation
Assist with completion yearly maintenance according to schedule
Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other co-workers, owners and other third parties of Gent Machine Company.
Assist with repairs, programming, setup, production or even cleaning as necessary
What do we think would make you successful in this role?
You must possess excellent arithmetic and communication skills; quality focused is a must!
Must have at least 6 years of CNC lathe experience
Must have at least 5 years of CNC mill experience
Must be able to program in G and M codes
Must be able to lift 75 pounds or more
Must be detail oriented to ensure parts meet print specifications
Must have good communication and leadership skills
Experience with Swiss CNC machines is a plus
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to:
Routinely sit, stand, and walk on oily surfaces.
The ability to frequently bend, climb, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
The ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
**Please be aware that our shop is a modern facility but an oily environment so you must not be afraid to get dirty. You will also be required to keep your area clean which includes mopping the floor whenever needed. It is imperative that the candidate not feel any task is too small for them.
