Press quenching can control distortion, but it can also introduce hidden crack risks.

In a DANTE study on AISI 52100 bearing rings, simulations revealed that:

Tensile stresses spike during martensite formation
Friction and sticking at the dies significantly increase crack risk
Process choices like quench rate can influence stress relief

DANTE's 6.3.1 software update is now available and with it comes several new capabilities and quality of life changes.

What's new in the release:

-Nickel added to materials feature for thermal and stress models in ACT and Plugin.
-Thermal properties for steel are now optionally dependent on carbon and nitrogen content.
-Improvements to the primary creep model, now allowing for simultaneous primary and secondary creep.
-Fixed several bugs in the FEA, ACT, and Plugin.

These updates support more accurate materials modeling, phase transformation prediction, and heat treatment process simulation.

FEA with Ansys solver, distributed cpus were implemented (intel mpi installation (impi.dll) is required, which comes from Ansys installation package).
