Forefront is partnering with InspectFL for an informative Lunch & Learn featuring Shane Gerwig, CEO of InspectFL, to explore upcoming changes to the Florida Building Code and their impact on the design and construction industry.

Shane will discuss the proposed 9th Edition Florida Building Code changes, including updates to residential construction, structural and wind requirements, and MEP systems. He'll also share how private provider plan reviews and inspections can help streamline permitting and keep projects moving.

A big win for Forefront AE! 🎉 We’re excited to share that Forefront AE has been selected by the City of Orlando to provide design services for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).

Our designs will support the City’s initiative to create a library of pre-designed ADU plans, helping streamline the design and permitting process while giving Orlando property owners more options for adding flexible housing to their properties.

We’re proud to bring our architecture and engineering expertise to an initiative focused on thoughtful design, neighborhood compatibility, and expanding housing opportunities throughout Orlando.

Project Spotlight: Yorgo Terrace 🏡✨Forefront AE is providing architectural design and site planning for Yorgo Terrace, a new residential development in Ocala, Florida. Our team is helping shape the community through coordinated residential planning, circulation, and amenity design.

The development is planned to include:

✅ Approximately 300 new homes
✅ Three community clubhouses
✅ Three pools and recreational spaces
✅ Coordinated roadways, pedestrian connections, and open spaces

Forefront AE is working alongside RMEC, LLC and J & C Primer Builders, LLC to coordinate the various components of the development and create a connected, thoughtfully planned community.

Project Spotlight: City of Palm Coast Fire Station No. 22 Renovation 🧑🚒✨Forefront AE was given approval to move forward with the design and engineering for the renovation of Historic Fire Station 22 in Palm Coast. Our team is providing architectural and structural services to help preserve this historic landmark while transforming it into a modern, accessible community facility.

The 4,722 SF project includes:

✅ Full structural assessment and termite damage evaluation
✅ 1,725 SF addition to the existing facility
✅ ADA compliant upgrades and modern finishes
✅ Energy efficient systems and updated building standards

The project will preserve the station’s iconic character while creating a flexible space designed to serve the Palm Coast community for years to come.

Meet Kaes! 👋This summer, we welcomed Kaes, a rising junior at Wake Forest University studying Business and Enterprise Management, to the Forefront AE team.

With an interest in real estate, land development, and business development, Kaes spent the summer gaining hands-on experience and exploring how architecture and engineering play a role in the larger building and development process.

From joining field inspections to learning more about architectural planning, client conversations, and business development, Kaes got a firsthand look at the many moving parts behind the industry.

One of his biggest takeaways? The importance of collaboration and how every department plays a role in making a company successful.

As Kaes heads back to Wake Forest for his junior year, we’re grateful to have had him as part of the Forefront team and wish him all the best in what’s ahead! 🎓
