Weather woes put USMTS events on hold at Fergus Falls, Ogilvie, Mason City

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (May 17)—USMTS and track officials from the I-94 Speedway, Ogilvie Raceway and Mason City Motor Speedway have announced that this weekend’s trio of USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup events, May 18-20, are being postponed due to impending unfavorable weather conditions.

“Rain and cold are pretty much inevitable for Fergus Fall on Friday and Ogilvie on Saturday,” said USMTS President Todd Staley. “With the long miles of travel for many of our teams, it doesn’t make sense to ask them to venture up north to possibly get one show in at Mason City on Sunday, so we are moving the shows to later dates where, hopefully, we have better weather for our promoters, drivers and fans.”

This Friday’s 4th Annual Casey's General Stores Summersota Nationals at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn., will now take place on Friday, Aug. 10, while the 7th Annual Chubbs Performance Modified Madness presented by U.S. Army at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minn., will happen on Saturday, Aug. 11.

Sending condolences to Mecl Chassis, and the whole Mecl family... Tim was a guy that will be missed by all. I will miss the times I spent with him at the track, and in the shop. I will never forget looking for scorpions, and playing "what's in the hole in the desert?", or the times we drove down never-ending goat paths in the mountains! You were a great customer, Tim, but an even better friend.

Jon Tollakson in his super stock with not only an impressive six feature wins, but he won the championship by 243 points!

Jim Gullikson picked up a clean sweep and his 21st feature win at Ogilvie in his street stock!
Travis Schulte battled for his clean sweep in his Midwest Mod at Ogilvie!

Tim Johnson walked away with two more belts last night at Viking! One with a clean sweep in his street stock and a feature win in his modified!
