Yesterday we added a major new piece of equipment to Cordes Lumber – a Laguna SmartShop MT Elite CNC Router.
This isn’t just any router – it’s a fully loaded production machine with a 7.5 HP spindle, automatic tool changer, multi-zone vacuum table, tangential and oscillating knife modules, plus a vision/camera system. In short, it gives us the ability to cut, route, and shape way more than just wood.
With this setup we’ll be able to:
• Create custom doors, trim, and baseboards with precision
• Produce detailed sign work, packaging prototypes, and decorative panels
• Work with wood, foam, composites, rubber, textiles, and more
• Expand our millwork shop into new creative and production possibilities
Getting it here was an adventure in itself. We had to use our flatbed truck, pallet jacks, and heavy-duty equipment dollies to move this multi-ton machine safely from Reading, OH to our lumberyard. It took some creativity and teamwork, but we got it in place.
This machine represents a big step forward for Cordes Lumber. We’re excited about the new capabilities it brings and the custom work we’ll be able to offer our customers.
