This month's employee spotlight is Kelly.

Kelly specializes in structural engineering for new and existing residential, commercial, and industrial structures.

We asked PEI Principals Tom and Kip to share something they appreciate about working with him.

Here's what they said:

"Kelly's background owning and operating a construction company gives him a perspective that's hard to teach. He understands the full picture.

On Saturday, we celebrated 30 years on the water with our team and clients.

Three decades of projects, partnerships, and people. We couldn't think of a better way to mark the milestone than with the ones who made it happen.

Pinnacle Engineering started in a home office in Loveland, Ohio, in 1996.

In the 30 years since, we have moved through five offices across the Cincinnati area and grown into a team of engineers specializing in commercial, customized residential, and specialized design projects.

This week, we're sharing a few photos from those early days.

You might notice Abby, showing up twice: once as a toddler in Kip's home office in 1996, and again at the Blue Ash move-in in 1999. She's now a structural engineer at PEI.

Kip's son, Levi, is also pictured, along with Teresa, who managed the front desk at the Blue Ash office.

We're grateful for the clients, collaborators, and team members who have been part of our growth.

30 years ago, Kip Ping founded Pinnacle Engineering.

Back then (in 1996), we were registered in just 3 states, OH, IN, & KY.

Today, we have structural engineers licensed in every state except Alaska and Hawaii.

What started as a one-person team has grown into a firm of engineers working on projects nationally.

It's butterfly season at Khron Conservatory in Cincinnati 🦋

Our team contributed to the new monarch butterfly sculpture out front.

We designed the structural backing members and analyzed the existing building to confirm it could support the installation.

To mark the milestone, we dug up some early PEI artifacts.

This is a hand-drawn retaining wall on graph paper. Four pages, April 1996, and a set of structural notes that still hold up today.

Thirty years later, we are still at it.

Our team provided structural engineering services for the Trenton-Mercer FBO Airport Hangar in West Trenton, NJ.

It was designed by Bascon Inc. in collaboration with us.

The scope included structural design for the foundation, including maintaining the existing airport slab while designing a new slab system above it.
