The RIDGID pipe wrench has been getting the job done for over 100 years—but there are a few things about its history that might surprise you. 🔧

• RIDGID was founded in Elyria, Ohio, in 1922 after its founders set out to improve the traditional Stillson pipe wrench design.
• The new design featured a slanted jaw for increased gripping power and a one-piece housing for added strength.
• Early improvements helped prevent jaw wobble and slippage, making the wrench even more reliable.
• In 1969, RIDGID introduced an aluminum-handled pipe wrench that was 40% lighter than cast iron while maintaining its durability.
• Today, the RIDGID wrench lineup includes more than 90 models used across construction, energy, mining, and other trades worldwide.
• More than a century later, RIDGID pipe wrenches are still manufactured in Elyria, Ohio.

There’s a reason the RIDGID pipe wrench has remained a jobsite staple for generations.
