U.S. Forest Service, Oregon Department of Forestry, and Walker Range firefighters are on scene at two new wildfires in north Lake County, near Oregon Highway 31.

The Pothole Springs Fire, 5 miles west of OR-31, is currently five acres and spreading at a moderate rate.

Firefighters are involved in a full suppression response, engaged in direct extinguishment of the active fire front to minimize fire growth. Smoke may be visible along OR-31 and in the communities of Fort Rock and Silver Lake. Please avoid the area for public and firefighter safety.
