Job Description:
Objective/Summary:
Welds metal parts with mig welding equipment as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Positions parts in jigs/fixtures on bench/floor, or claps parts together along layout marks.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces
• Weld along vertical or overhead weld lines
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter; grinds weld smooth as required
• Cleans or degreases parts
• Checks products for quality work
• Reworks and repairs faulty products
• Keeps work area free from debris and clutter
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Records information, such as quantities, work time, completion date, and other job information daily
• May work in other departments...
