A tiller is a simple tool that makes a big difference when working in gardens, food plots, and new planting areas.

It breaks up hard or compacted soil, leaving you with a clean, workable seed bed. It's much easier than trying to do it all by hand.

We all know what the dirt in New England is like. ,When it.comes to tillers, we primarily stock forward rotation tillers because they tend to handle our rocky, root-filled soils better. A forward rotation tiller is less aggressive than a reverse rotation model, which helps reduce shock loads when hitting rocks and makes them a great fit for dense, uneven ground. Reverse rotation tillers really shine in softer or sandier soils where you’re looking for a deeper, finer finish.

Flail mowers are one of those implements people don’t always start out looking for but end up really liking once they see what they can do.

They’re great for maintaining field edges, trails, fence lines, overgrown pasture, and roadside cleanup. Instead of one big spinning blade like a brush hog, a flail mower uses a drum with lots of small, free-swinging blades that chop material up as you go. The end result is a much finer cut with less mess left behind.

There are a couple different blade styles depending on what you’re doing. Lighter Y-blades are better for grass and lighter mowing, while heavier hammer blades are built for thicker brush and more overgrown areas.

Most setups also give you some flexibility with offset and tilt, which makes it easier to work along ditches, fence lines, and uneven ground without having to drive directly on top of everything.

They just do a nice job when you want things cleaned up without leaving it rough.
