Maritime Machines

Maritime Machines Restoring and preserving Chicago's finest classic wooden boats. "It is an aesthetic pleasure, an art form, to be able to see and use these boats.

There is a time-machine aspect of wooden boating. You're in a vessel handed down by generations of people and more than likely using the rigging and equipment the same as it was years ago." --Capt. Toby Lindo

Our chief restoration projects are the oldest power boat moored in Chicago, Robert Allan II, and the schooner Wild Goose. These vessels are magnificent time machines, offering a window into

the past and the very best of our Great Lakes heritage. There are many ways to support our work or get involved, from volunteering and donations, to workshops, to membership. Check out our website to learn more about how to get involved and support our ongoing work: maritimemachines.org
