Some legacies are built one relationship, one challenge, and one team at a time.

In 1978, Hydro expanded into Houston, Texas, to meet the growing demand for quality aftermarket pump services. Around the same time, Jim Shaffer, a West Virginia born, Houston based pump industry veteran had risen to the top of his field with a pump OEM and was looking for a new challenge - a move that would help shape the future of HydroTex Dynamics.

One early milestone was partnering with the power generation industry, helping establish HydroTex Dynamics as a trusted service provider and creating a foundation for future expansion.

Today, Jim is mostly retired, but his connection to HydroTex Dynamics remains. You can still occasionally find him in his office, sharing his experience, industry wisdom, and a story or two with the next generation.

Jim Shaffer is more than a part of HydroTex Dynamics’ history. He is a part of its foundation.

When critical equipment is at risk, every hour counts.

The HydroTex network is built to work together for time-sensitive jobs. A routine pump refurbishment became a time-critical job when a Gulf Coast refinery's backup pump started to fail. Complicating the job, the original impeller was worn and needed to be replaced. They needed a replacement solution - fast.

Hydro Parts Solutions stepped in to reverse engineer and manufacture a replacement impeller, taking the component from a damaged reference sample to a finished, machined casting in just 3 weeks.

The result? The refurbished pump was delivered before the backup unit deteriorated further, helping the customer avoid costly downtime.

This is what happens when service center expertise, engineering innovation, and cross-team collaboration come together to solve complex challenges under pressure.
