Yesterday, staff members spent their lunchtime working together to make dog and cat toys for the animals at Anti-Cruelty!

Our team was able to craft over 20 toys to donate to the animals at the shelter 🐶🐱

We are beyond excited to share the completion of the new athletic field at the University of Chicago Charter School! This collaborative effort between The University of Chicago, TERRA Engineering, and Wight & Company has transformed the campus and community, providing a wide range of athletic and recreational opportunities.

The dedication and hard work of the team have truly brought this vision to life, and we are proud to see the positive impact this project has already had on the students. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this project a success!

You might remember our e-blast from last month, but we wanted to send a quick reminder: The City of Chicago released updated Regulations for Sewer Construction and Stormwater Management, effective February 1, 2025. (https://lnkd.in/gYzQpjzz) A summary of key updates follows.

Please let us know how TERRA can help you evaluate these changes and effects to your development; we’d love to help you navigate the changes!

1) Pavement resurfacing is considered maintenance and would not trigger stormwater requirements, but full-depth pavement reconstruction (even if to the same grades) will trigger rate control and volume control requirements.

2) The largest change is moving towards Bulletin 75 rainfall intensities when sizing stormwater management facilities. Bulletin 75 incorporates the Illinois State Water Survey’s recent update to rainfall intensities in Illinois and provides an increase of ~1-inch for the 100-yr, 24-hr event in the Chicagoland area; generally resulting in a 20-30% increase in the required detention volumes for Regulated Developments.

Last Friday, TERRA's Chicago staff scored big at our annual summer outing with a visit to Wrigley Field to cheer on the Chicago Cubs! ⚾️

enjoyed great company, tasty treats and witnessed the Cubs secure a 6-0 victory. Plus, a fun fact: TERRA played a pivotal role as the civil engineer of record for the Wrigley Field renovation project, providing professional site development and surveying services!
