Boomerang is currently looking for an Employee Health & Safety Specialist (EH&S Specialist) to provide technical environmental, health, and safety support to production and corporate personnel. This individual will be responsible for implementing corporate safety and health programs and objectives and will coordinate safety training programs. Additional job duties would involve monitoring environmental, safety and health regulations and providing technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.

Physical Requirements: This employee must be able to handle emergency situations that might include moving, propping and assisting employees in various positions due to the nature of an event. The ability to wear a respirator or SCBA based on the situation. Must be able to safely lift and load 50 lbs. The employee must also be able to work outside in a variety of conditions.

Education Requirements: OSHA 10/30 Hour General Industry Certification, Industrial Discipline certificates in Health, Safety and Environmental or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of heavy industrial manufacturing operations in the oil & gas industries. First responder training (First Aid, CPR and AED) or medical training a plus.

COMMITTED TO EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT! We are pleased to announce the creation of a new Training and Development Manager’s role and the hiring of our new training and development manager, Ashley Hager. Ashley has 13 years of experience and a proven track record of success in the area of employee learning and development, and this experience will be invaluable as we strive to meet the enterprise goals and employee growth objectives of our company. Ashley holds a BA, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, and has held similar positions within the oil & gas industry.

According to Boomerang CEO, Paul Deweese, the company plans for an aggressive program under Ashley’s leadership to include training in the areas of management, safety, new hire, sales, manufacturing efficiency, finance for non-financial managers, and others. “Our employees are our number one asset. BOOMERANG WORKING IN THE COMMUNITY! The GRACE initiative, in conjunction with Meals on Wheels of southern Liberty County, recently conducted a fund raiser hosted by the Boomerang team at our Liberty, Texas manufacturing plant. Donations and meal purchases by Boomerang employees and their families raised enough money to provide a month’s worth of meals for the elderly who utilize Meals on Wheels in the area. Thanks much to the employees of Boomerang and the volunteers of GRACE and Meals on Wheels for making our day a big success for the elderly of Liberty County! www.libertymeals.com

INVESTING IN OUR EMPLOYEES! At Boomerang, we take the training of our employees seriously. To that end, we recently hosted a 2-day Supervisor Essentials training program in our Houston location that covered leadership, effective communications, conflict resolution, interviewing, behavioral-based safety and investigating-reporting. Supervisors and business leaders from our Houston and Liberty facilities attended the training that was created by our new training leader, Ashley Hager, who recently joined the company. All our API connections meet or exceed API specifications, and our manufacturing facilities are API 5CT licensed. Our Houston, Texas facility is also ISO 9001 and API Q1 certified while our Liberty, Texas location is API 5L licensed. Boomerang’s Quality Assurance program (QAP) was developed to meet and exceed the American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications for the manufacturing of casing, tubing, and line pipe. We have developed a QAP focusing on 5 major areas:

Quality Systems – Our systems establish compliance with API.

Metallurgical and Lab Oversight – These include steel sourcing, incoming product verification checks, process control checks, and final product validation.

Quality Control Inspection – Includes ultrasonic inspection, destructive testing of pipe rings, crush testing, full body electromagnetic inspection, hydrotest, and visual.

Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection - 100% of our heat-treated products are inspected utilizing our RTIS system. This state-of-the art unit enables us to provide the most complete and accurate inspection in the industry.

Collapse Testing – Boomerang uses 8 times diameter samples to provide a stringent collapse test.

Boomerang takes pride in offering tours of our mills in Liberty and Houston, TX. Shown here is our Olympus Rotating Tube Inspection System (RTIS) which is a phased array ultrasonic inspection system.

RTIS features 8 heads located on a dual carriage system containing a total of 963 inspection probes for 110% overlap coverage, clockwise longitudinal and transverse inspection, counterclockwise longitudinal and transverse inspection, 110% body wall verification and UT SEA (Special End Area) inspection.
