USDA Rural Development has a grant opportunity for projects which "create and augment high-wage jobs, accelerate the formation of new businesses, support industry clusters and maximize the use of local productive assets in eligible low-income rural areas." Budgets of up to $2,000,000 are eligible. Applications are due April 19, so contact us by February 19 for help with your application.

Life continues because it must, but on September 11, 2001 it stopped in its tracks as the United States experienced one of the worst days in our country's modern history. What followed was a period of mourning, brotherhood, compassion, kindness, and understanding American to American.

Honor those who were lost, those who were left behind, and those who serve to protect by teaching your children about our history, by being compassionate and helping your neighbor. By living this truth, we can pass on some valuable lessons to our children, our future, so that it doesn't take horrible tragedy for them to notice the needs of their neighbor.

Please honor every American by doing something kind.

It's been my honor to work with Lynne's Kids, Inc. over the past month. They are a non-profit working to support at-risk youth in Essex County, MA. These children have been in the court system through DCF and other agencies facing challenges no kid should have to. Lynne's Kids provides opportunities to these children that help them feel valued, important, and hopeful for their future. Go to www.lynneskids.org to learn more.
